Pretty simple update this month.
Added some improvements to my ‘not Chun-Li’ character. Still not fully happy with it. Not sure what’s missing. She just needs to look ‘better’ to me.
I did start work on a Cammy, which seemed to go better.
I really like the face for this model so, I did experiment with some different looks as well.
I think about 3 years ago I did start work on a new game called Yessenia where you would play as a body guard to a famous Cellist, but my hard drive with her model on it got fried. So, I tried setting up this model as a replacement.
I quite like the idea of her being a ballet dancer instead (obvious setups for showcasing her flexibility), with a strict coach/parents, but when visiting America she ‘escapes’ her training for a night of freedom as she goes exploring the city. You’d play as the bodyguard who escorts her everywhere. I think this setup has lots of potential for character driven scenes, which I like.
Anyway, what does anyone think? Is the Street Fighter inspired Tournament game still worth pursuing? Does the Yessenia game sound better? Should it be with this model or a different one? Let me know your thoughts.
I do like the idea of an ensemble cast game for introducing new characters and having more variety, as well as really liking the Street fighter cast in general. The “Cammy” looks great! The con i’d have for the Street Fighter game is that you dont get to spend much time with each character as you’d have to split dev time between each.
As for the bodyguard game, I like her model alot. I personally prefer the single character games as you get to have more interactions with them and you feel more immersed due to more character moment. Downside is the lack of variety if you’re not into the main character.
I think the street fighter game would work well first as maybe even a back story to the bodyguard character in Yessenia game (if you wanted to continue making games).
The Street Fighter game could get too big depending on the number of characters. Obviously, you’ve made games with many characters before, but I gather that’s not your speed now?
