JULY 8TH UPDATE

A third version of what I want to use as an animated engine is now online.

This version uses flash movies rather than mp4 like the other two. In theory, that means as long as you can play the games on this site, and watch videos on youtube, this version should work for you.

There's a few reasons I didn't use flash earlier, but I think they're all ones I can work around.

Hopefully everyone should be able to play this one!

A quick update on the sites' hosting transfer. It is progressing, although there were a few techical problems I had to solve with the hosting service. It's moving now though and the process should be complete about friday 19th.

The new blog should go online that weekend along with the new store. There should also be lots of preview pics and even some video from the new game then.

BLOG UPDATE

Those who visit the site regularly may have noticed a few issues lately. This is basically what's happening...

The company who host this website are changing the way they work, moving all their sites onto shared servers. This immediately caused problems for me as none of my access information worked. This includes any ftp access, cpanel access, and emails. After exchanging many emails with technical support, they were eventually able to fix this problem. I am now able to access my emails and will be trying to reply to as many as I can soon.

The move also messed up my wordpress stuff, which is why I'm writing here instead of my blog.

Next, less than 24 hours after the site moved onto a different server, I was told there was also too much traffic (the site is very popular these days), and they would be limiting access. This is why some of you may have been unable to load certain pages online.

To solve this I should upgrade to a dedicated server. Unsurprisingly, this costs much more money, and it isn't an amount I'm willing to pay.

So, I am now moving to a different host, dreamhost. The process in underway, but can take 7 to 14 days as one company approves the other.

So that's where I am right now, just waiting. There may be a little down time over the next two weeks as things move, so be prepared.

To finish with, here are two good things :

- Dreamhost also comes with it's own merchant software, so hopefully I can replace the zencart store I have with that and all it's issues will be solved.

- Epoch, the company who controls the members area, are now accepting paypal from users in Europe, and some other areas I think. Have a look if you're from there.
